I know that I've been not so great about updating my blog - I'm not sure that people really care to hear my confused thoughts about things (like politics - I just don't like Hilary Clinton, and have a hard time getting beyond that), and so I just stay mum. But one of my New Year's Resolutions is to try and do at least weekly updates (we'll see how that goes!), and I just bought a new digital camera (and actually got it out of the box after having it for a week to charge the battery! Now I just need to figure out how to use it!) so at least I'll be able to post my own pictures again.
So the reason for this post is that yesterday I finally got brave and I had Lasik surgery (at TLC Vision - highly recommend them - they were fantastic), and this morning at my one day follow-up appointment I am seeing 20/15 in my left eye and 20/30 in my right eye (I was twitching while they were working on that eye - and so have a scrape that has caused that eye to swell up significantly more - the doc said as the swelling goes down that he expects my vision will improve to match my left eye). It was so crazy this morning to wake up and be able to see, and despite my boss' belief that I needed to take the whole week off to recover (because of an episode he saw of "King of Queens" where one the characters had Lasik and was blind for 3 or 4 days... now there's a reliable source of information!), I'm ready to go - how crazy is that?! The miracles of modern medicine...
