Funny pictures...

My Mom scanned in and sent me some pictures for a project that I'm working on... they made me laugh, so I though I'd share...

Deb's Home!!

My sister Debby got home Friday night after almost 16 months in Afghanistan. I'm so proud of her and all of the hard work she and others like her do all over the world (like my other brothers and sisters - Sara spent the summer in Middle East collecting pancreatic tumors, Marc and all of his sonar work that's taken him all over the world, Brett and the buildings he designs, and Kirk - well, he teaches junior high -enough said... I feel like a slacker compared to all of them!). With that said, I'm happy Deb's home and just a phone call away for a few months. Some of my favorite pictures she sent back while on the other side of the world... At the airstrip in her full get-up - protective body armour, helmet and goggles
Poppie fields are apparently a huge problem - this field got plowed under.
One of Deb's favorite things was visiting the girl's school. I can imagine that she was hugely popular there!

Link to web album from Peru Trip!

Wahoooo! My first big trip since buying my house - with new travel buddies. After waiting almost 3 months for my new passport (!), we spent about 9 days in Peru and it was awesome, although very different from Europe. The highlights would include visiting Macchu Pichu, a trip into the Amazon jungle, and delivering toys to kindergartens in mountain villages around Cusco. You should be able to watch this as a slideshow...
